Take Tech – The initiative for technical and scientific careers
All over Europe the need for future employees in the so-called MINT disciplines (mathematics, information technologies, natural sciences, technology) is increasing. In addition, due to the development towards smart technologies and services the requirements imposed on employees are increasing, too. Thus, the best answer is to take measures at an early stage. The initiative Take Tech by the Styrian Business Promotion Agency SFG shall prove the potential that lies dormant in Styria and is waiting to be awoken.

In the course of the annual action days, the participating companies open their doors for company tours in order to give Styrian students practical insights into the fascinating business world of technology and natural sciences. Further information on the initiative can be found here.

Explore Industry

Explore Industry – the factory tour for children and teenagers
Explore Industry stands for tailor-made factory tours for the target group of 8 to 14 year-old children. School classes get an insight into domestic industrial companies and get to know more about products and processes. The factory tours follow a didactic concept and are to be understood as an addition to the school lessons. For teachers, information material for the preparation of the factory tour and follow-up-work are provided. Explore Industry is a an offer of Styrian industrial companies and is coordinated by the Federation of Austrian Industries Styria.

Steiermark – the Green Heart of Austria
As tourism organisation of the federal state of Styria, Steiermark Tourismus is responsible for the implementation of marketing measures on national and international markets as well as for the interregional holiday product development.

Thus, the company is responsible for the leadership and further development of Styria as a brand. The strategic orientation of the company as well as the leading of the umbrella brand require constant observation and consideration of trends within society as well as brand development, in order to be able to react to changes in a quick and adequate way. The goal is to increase the level of awareness and desirability of the trademark Styria with suitable offers in the four experience fields (nature & motion, food & drink, regeneration & wellness as well as urban & rural culture), all four seasons in the four landscape zones (mountains, pastures & forests, cities & villages, thermal water & spring water, wine & gardens).

Your personal admission ticket for the whole of Styria: Whether on a family vacation or for exciting experiences in your free time and during the weekends – once bought, from 1 April to 31 October, the Steiermark Card offers free entry to more than 120 destinations.

The offered leisure programme could not be wider and equally attracts museum visitors, nature enthusiasts, hikers and recreational guests. From the Tierpark Herberstein to the museums of the Universalmuseum Joanneum, from the mountain railway to the wellness or culinary experience: the broad spectrum of the Steiermark Card destinations offers the right recreational pleasure for every taste – in all parts of Styria, for all ages, in every weather – and presents the “green region” in all its diversity. Kinderbüro – Die Lobby für Menschen bis 14.
In 1998 the Kinderbüro was founded by people who wanted to represent the interests of children and adolescents, by spreading the UN Convention on the Rights of the Children in society. The Kinderbüro® – Die Lobby für Menschen bis 14 distinguishes itself by its successful collaboration with a variety of communal, regional, national, and international project partners from areas such as politics, administration, and corporate sector.

Innovation is important to us: We connect questions, problems and ideas from many areas. We question seemingly universal validity, search for new rudiments – also for our cooperation partners and target groups – and look for people with different ideas and point of views. We want to find innovative answers through interactions so that we can create fruitful projects for the children’s rights and a child-friendly society.


The WKO Styria Talentcenter – Professional Vocational Orientation
The Talentcenter of the Styrian Commercial Chamber is a center for the assessment of the talents and strengths of 13 to 15 year old students who attend grade 7 or 8 at an Austrian school. The talent assessment tools are based on scientific data and assessment is conducted in cooperation with the University of Graz. The talent check shows, individually for every student, which potentials and inclinations are especially pronounced and thus provides advice on a future course of education and career path.

Through an online pre-test at school, general data and interests are prompted. But only at the Talentcenter, motor abilities, cognitive performance as well as general knowledge and relevant skills for certain professions are collected.

Eventually, the young people are able to access their personal talent report online in the form of a written and graphic result presentation, which they can easily interpret. At its core it includes two lists with suggestions for suitable professions, which in addition are linked to job descriptions, videos and courses of education.
